Community Service Opportunities
Please contact Mrs. Chase in the counseling office to sign up to help with any events listed here. Some events also require contact with an organization or individual. Thank you!
Red Kettle Campaign Bell Ringers
Want to get into the holiday spirit while also helping a great cause AND earn community service hours? Then you should sign up to be a bell ringer at the South Dayton Supermarket! Get creative with it; sing songs, tell holiday jokes, play an instrument, just be friendly and helpful to customers walking in and out!
We need volunteers to sign up Monday through Saturday until December 23rd. You could work from 4-6pm, 6-8pm Monday through Friday or anytime on Saturdays from 8am-8pm. We would like students to sign up in pairs- everything is always better with a friend anyway!
Please come see me to sign up for a shift! The Salvation Army cannot help our community if we don’t help them collect donations! We NEED you!
Take a picture of yourself ringing the bell and email it to Mrs. Chase! We want to recognize you for doing good in our community!

Interested in connecting with an organization that can provide you many opportunities to participate in community service?
Become a volunteer with the Red Cross!
The American Red Cross is always looking for volunteers to help support the good work that they do. Neighbors helping neighbors is what the Red Cross is all about. Volunteers make up more than 90% of the total workforce needed to carry out their humanitarian mission. Red Cross volunteers perform such critical services as helping victims of fires, floods, storms, and other disasters; and providing lifesaving training in CPR and water safety. Others help the organization with office work, event planning, and much, much more. Volunteers are a part of everything we do, and there’s a volunteer opportunity for everyone.
They are looking for volunteers of all ages. There is an online volunteer application available if you are interested in hooking up with this organization. Go online to www.redcross.org/ny/buffalo/volunteer . Make sure you select the right application; there are applications for Adult (18+) and Youth (-18).
Pop Tabs Collections Committee
Year-round Help Needed
We are now in charge of collecting Pop Tabs in our community. Student volunteers are needed to pick up containers in the community and bring them back to school for preparing for donation to either the Ronald McDonald House or WCA Dialysis Unit. It would be great to have a student in each town responsible for pick ups and monitoring of the containers. Please see Mrs. Chase to volunteer.
