Welcome. My name is Susan Zirkle and I am in my eleventh year of teaching at Pine Valley. Please feel free to call me or email me with any questions you might have. Please remind your children that cell phones and other electronic devices are not allowed, and if seen, will be taken and given to the office. First offense: students can get it back at the end of the day, second offense: a week before students can get the phone back and third offense: a month with no phone. Thank you

Learning Lab
Learning Lab is used for students who need extra assistance with homework or other skills in a smaller group setting. Students will get assistance with homework, have lessons re-taught, some lessons pre-taught and build up skill areas.

Classroom rules for Miss Zirkle
1) Respect self, peers and adults, and property
2) Do expected class work and homework
3) Raise your hand –do not shout out answers
4) Use appropriate language (NO swearing or vulgar language)
5) Come to class prepared
Consequences for breaking the rules
(The order for these can be switched or eliminated depending on the severity of the broken rule)
1) “The Look”
2) Verbal Warning
3) After school detention with Miss Zirkle
4) Call home to parents or guardians
5) Referral to the office
