Test to Stay @ PVCS

  • Defined

      • Test to Stay is “a modified, test-based protocol for asymptomatic PreK-12 students and staff who have been identified as close contacts to someone with Covid-19. TTS allows eligible quarantined individuals to attend in-school instruction."
      • Please note vaccinated individuals do not need to participate in this protocol.

    Eligibility

      • Identified as needing to quarantine by the local department of health or School Contact Tracing Team.
      • Close contact exposure must have occurred in the school setting and while both were properly masked.
      • Individuals whose household contacts have signs or symptoms of COVID-19 are not eligible for TTS. Please keep the student home and contact the appropriate school personnel in this circumstance.
      • Correctly wear a well fitting mask at all times and maintain 6 feet of distance from other individuals when not masked.
      • Follow all mitigation measures recommended by the CDC including active monitoring.
      • Parent/guardian or staff member must provide permission to be part of this protocol. The consent document is attached.

    Testing

      • Exposed people are tested with an FDA-authorized/approved test two times during the five days following exposure. One test must occur on day 5. If day five falls on a weekend, the test must be on the next school day.
      • Individuals may be tested prior to leaving for school or can be tested immediately upon arrival to school. On days when school is not in session, testing is not required.
      • If an individual tests positive, the result must be reported to the appropriate school personnel. If an individual tests negative, this is reported to TTS@pval.org.
      • If an individual develops symptoms while in school, they must leave/be picked up promptly.
      • Individuals should document results using the steps on the back of this form.
