Raptor Visitor Management System
As a parent, you are concerned for the safety and welfare of your child/ren. At Pine Valley, we make safety a priority and want to lessen your concern while they are in our care. To that end, we are pleased to announce that we will begin using the Raptor Visitor Management System to build on the district’s program of campus safety for students and staff. Part of keeping students and staff safe is knowing who is in our buildings at all times, and the Raptor system will allow us to do that by allowing us to track visitors, contractors, and volunteers in our schools. The Raptor Visitor Management System screens visitors against the sex offender registries in every state, and against each school’s database for custody issues and other alerts. Every visitor, vendor, and volunteer who enters Pine Valley will be screened instantly.
Upon entering a district building, visitors will be asked to present a valid government-issued ID (such as a driver’s license) which will be scanned into the system. It is important to note that the Raptor system only scans the visitor's name, date of birth and photo. Additional visitor data from the driver's license is not gathered nor is the system connected to any other system such as the Department of Motor Vehicles. Therefore, no other license information is accessible to any of the users.
Once entry is approved, Raptor will issue a badge that identifies the visitor, the date, and the purpose of his/her visit. A visitor badge will not be necessary for those who visit our schools simply to drop off an item at the main office or to pick up paperwork.
The Raptor Visitor Management System will provide a consistent way to aid in keeping all within our buildings safe. Thank you for your understanding and support of enhancing school safety protocols in our district.
