A Message from Mrs. Meacham

Hello Pine Valley Elementary School Families!A woman with long blonde hair smiles warmly while wearing a light blue blazer.

I am thrilled to continue my work with our Pine Valley team and community! To keep up with some of the wonderful things happening in our building, follow me on Twitter @MrsMeacham and make sure you have the ParentSquare app set up. We also post many district updates on our Pine Valley Central School Facebook page.

Our elementary team is here to ensure the safety, well-being, and education of our students, staff, and community. We work hard to provide a variety of opportunities to meet the needs we see. If your family needs anything, please do not hesitate to contact us!

Four main objectives for improvement guide all the work of our elementary teams:

  1. Improve Daily Attendance
    1. We need to be present to learn
    2. We need consistency and routine for a sense of mental safety
    3. Consistent attendance builds good work habits
  2. Improve Behavior
    1. Reduced behavioral incidents in the school means more time for learning, better leadership for programs, and a safe learning environment for all
    2. Improved behavior comes from learning coping strategies and mental resilience that will be beneficial in any life situation
  3. Build Character
    1. Character traits are often described as “soft skills” in the workforce. When working with local businesses, these soft skills are named as the most crucial components for employees to maintain their positions in the company
    2. Panthers work to be Positive, Responsible, Respectful, and Safe
  4. Improve Academics
    1. Strengthen reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills in all students
    2. Strengthening math reasoning and fluency for all students
    3. Provide hands-on Science, Technology, and Engineering experiences at all grade levels
    4. Leverage the arts, hobbies, and sports to ensure learning is fun and students are well-rounded

To help us achieve these goals for all students, we ask our families for a few very important things!

  1. Maintain communication and a partnership with the school
  2. Ensure reading at home each night for 15-30 minutes (Students can read silently, with a family member, or be read to)
  3. Find ways to have fun with your children while sneaking in some learning (cooking, measuring, singing, rhyming, counting, playing games)

I encourage you to join our Parent-Teacher Organization to get involved with the school and events!

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions, comments, or concerns.

  • ParentSquare

All schools in our district use ParentSquare for school communication primarily with email, text, and app notifications.

ParentSquare automatically syncs with our student information system to generate an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number. We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.

ParentSquare is a safe, secure, and modern approach to communication and collaboration between school and home. Learn more and get started today by viewing our ParentSquare.
